How much does tree removal cost in Northwest Indiana?
There’s no honest flat price — it depends on the tree’s size and species, whether it’s alive or dead, how close it is to your house or power lines, and how easily equipment can reach it. Small trees in the open are modest; large removals over a roof are a bigger job. We give you a written, all-in estimate after seeing the tree so the price doesn’t change on you.
Do you remove the stump too?
Standard removal takes the tree down to a low stump. Grinding the stump out below grade is a quick add-on we can bundle into the same visit — just ask for it on your estimate so we bring the grinder.
Will my homeowner’s insurance cover it?
Often yes when a tree has already fallen on a covered structure (house, garage, fence) during a storm. Preventive removal of a healthy or simply unwanted tree usually isn’t covered. Check your policy — and we’re happy to provide documentation for a claim.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree?
For a tree on your own property, most NWI towns don’t require one. Trees in the right-of-way (near the street/sidewalk) or certain protected species can be different. If your town needs a permit, we’ll flag it during the estimate and help you handle it.
Can you remove a tree close to my house or power lines?
Yes — that’s most of what we do. Tight removals come down in roped sections or by crane rather than being felled. For anything touching NIPSCO service lines we coordinate so the work is done safely.
How fast can you come out for storm damage?
We run 24/7 emergency response for trees that are already down or hanging over a home. For non-emergencies we’ll get you on the schedule quickly — usually with a same-day or next-day estimate.
Do you remove dead ash trees?
We do, and we see a lot of them — emerald ash borer has killed huge numbers of ash across Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties. Dead ash dries out and turns brittle, which makes it more dangerous the longer it stands, so it’s worth getting down sooner rather than later.
What happens to the wood and debris?
Full haul-away is included — limbs, brush, and logs leave with us and your yard is raked clean. Want to keep the firewood, or have us leave wood chips for mulch? Just tell the crew and we’ll set it aside.
